SCWBA Young Professionals spent the past 3 months in an accelerated professional development program designed to strengthen their interpersonal, leadership, and team collaboration skills. The final phase of the program was a hands on project requiring them to apply all they learned along the way with minimal to no guidance during the project itself.
This is the video highlight of their build day, captured by Michael Feirn with M2 Aerial Solutions LLC SCWBA's Young Professionals Network constructed a mock Lambeau leap wall for the upcoming Project 16:49 event in Janesville, WI on April, 15th. Who Are We?
SCWBA Young Professionals is a group within South Central Wisconsin Builders Association that focuses on creating a strong and vibrant network of industry peers working together to advance their leadership skills, grow their businesses, and shape the association for current and future sustainability. The Young Professionals Council (YPC) serves as peer liaisons for this membership demographic taking your ideas and concerns to SCWBA leadership. Young Professionals are encouraged to participate in any events and activities hosted by SCWBA, especially those designed especially for Young Professionals.

Highlights.
January 2026 SCWBA Young Professionals participated in Real Colors assessment workshop facilitated by Jamie Karns of Leadership Development Academy of Rock County. In February their 16 member team will head to Lake Geneva's Outdoor Wisconsin Leadership School for team building and ropes course fun. The group is currently working on a project in partnership with Project 16:49, a local nonprofit serving unaccompanied and homeless youth. Project updates and highlights to come.

Lucas was one of the first appointed Young Professionals Council members, tasked with helping create the foundation for the program and formulate a plan to advance the vision of SCWBA's Executive Officer - ultimately leading to the successful launch of this important arm of the association. The leadership team born of this launch has worked together to cultivate the Young Professionals Council we have today. |
2025 Young Professionals Awards Recipients, Sarah Landherr and Ashlyn Ellefson, are pictured here at the Annual Dinner in 2025.
Ashlyn, serving as 2026 YPC Chair, will be vital to the first year of SCWBA's Professional Leadership Development program. YPC and their 8 YP partners will spend 2026 participating in a project based learning program uniquely designed for SCWBA Young Professionals. The program partners with various companies and organizations in order to promote collaboration versus silos. January's Real Colors session was facilitate by Rock County Leadership Development Academy's Executive Director, Jamie Karns. The first program workbook will be released to the group on February 24th at the completion of their team building boot camp day at OWLS in Lake Geneva. |
